Woden’s Honey & Oat Loaf

A rustic golden loaf, sweetened with our Set Honey — perfect with butter, cheese, or a dram of mead.

Honey & Oat Loaf

Ingredients

  • 250g strong white bread flour
  • 150g wholemeal flour
  • 75g rolled oats
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 7g dried yeast
  • 2 tbsp Woden Set Honey
  • 300ml warm water
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Extra oats & honey for topping

Method

  1. In a large bowl, combine both flours, oats, salt, and yeast.
  2. Add warm water, honey, and oil. Mix into a sticky dough.
  3. Knead for 10 mins by hand or 6 mins in a mixer until smooth.
  4. Cover and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Shape into a loaf or round. Prove for 30 mins.
  6. Brush with warm honey, sprinkle oats.
  7. Bake at 200°C (180°C fan) for 30–35 mins.
  8. Cool slightly and serve warm with butter or cheese.
Optional: Add 50g chopped walnuts or dried apricots for texture.
